Alex moved to Japan as a new university graduate in 2015. He began his career in the alcoholic beverages industry working with wine, the passion of his youth. He received his WSET Level 4 Diploma in 2023, passing all exams in the minimum time frame, before turning his focus to the world of sake.

 

Today, Alex is an enthusiastic promoter of sake on the exports market and can be found at events and fairs around the world sharing the delights of sake with overseas audiences. When in Japan he can be found leading visits to sake breweries across the country or in your local sake bar.

 

Alex’s academic background is in modern languages, majoring in French and German at university. He taught himself Japanese after settling in Japan.
